On January 20, 2017 a small but very talented group of Joomlers descended on London England for a Joomla! Super Sprint. There's a reason it's called a 'Super Sprint'. This was one of the best Joomla events that I have participated in.
There were some questions ahead of the event about the value for the money that was being spent for it. I can say with absolute confidence that it was tremendous value for the money. I also think some of the elements of the Super Sprint should be in all Joomla events.
For the very first time ever the Joomla World Conference will be held in Canada. It will take place from Novemeber 11 to 13 in the beautiful city of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Joe Sonne will be attending and he is also on the program schedule for Friday afternoon to do a session on "Web Development On Your Local Computer Using MAMP and Joomla! CMS"

At the Open Source Matters, Inc. (OSM) Board meeting of 22 September 2016, Joe Sonne and Ronni K. Gothard Christiansen were added as Director’s of OSM Inc. Then on Thursday, October 20, 2016, Joe was elected to the position of OSM Secretary. Both Joe's and Ronni's terms will end when a new board gets elected sometime in the coming months after the work of the Transition Team is completed.
ANNOUNCEMENT: At the Open Source Matters Inc. (OSM) summit meeting in Boston on November 6, 2013, the directors of the Board of OSM, admitted Joe Sonne as a member of the organization and directors of the board. Joe takes on the role of Capital Committee team leader.
