Getting ready for Joomla! 1.7 sites?

With all the busyness of life and work going on we finally found time to update the JoeJoomla JJ Tweets Module. This has been on my mind for awhile.

What is JJ Tweets you ask? It's a Twitter module for displaying your twitter status updates.

In March, 2006, Team JoeJoomla got started with a Joomla! / Simple Machines Forum at joejoomla.com. The purpose of the team was to help others benefit from what Joomla! had to offer. Our small team offered charitable organizations help to get them started with a professional Joomla! website. It was satisfying and we all learned a lot. Times changed and so did the people of Team JoeJoomla and their priorities. At that time many of us were employed full time in other businesses or organizations. For most of us Joomla! was a professional hobby.

Is the sky falling for Joomla?

In Google Trends - Joomla! vs Wordpress vs Druplal, the line for Joomla! on the trends graph is falling in a very disturbing way. Despite the optimism prior to Joomla! 1.6 which brought much desired improvements like advanced access control list (ACL), Joomla! has not prospered in comparison to Wordpress. A continued fall on the chart may imply that Joomla! could find it's final resting place at the bottom of the three lines. Why is this happening?
