Ed Video Media Arts Centre is a membership based facility to help and enable the creation and exhibition of video-based projects. They are open to the public and provide workshops, do events, and rent equipment.

Every artist needs a website to showcase and promote their work. Joomla! is a great choice for a powerful and professional looking, yet easy to use, content management system for media artists of all kinds. By attending this 3 hour workshop you will get all the information you need to know if Joomla! is right for you.

In the workshop we will be covering the basics such as:

  • What is a CMS (content management system)?
  • What are the benefits of a CMS over a static html website?
  • How to set up the database on a webserver for Joomla!
  • How to install Joomla!
  • A quick overview of a few administrative backend tools
  • Control Panel
    • Menus
    • Section Manager

  • WYSIWYG text editor
  • How to install a template
  • Where to find Joomla! help


In order to attend this workshop you must register by September 16th. Cost of the workshop is $30 for Ed Video members/$40 for non-members (plus taxes).
